A man in a bar sees a friend at a table, drinking by himself.
Approaching the friend he comments, "You look terrible. What's the
problem?" "My mother died in June," he said, "and left me $10,000." "Gee, that's tough," he replied. "Then in July," the friend continued, "My father died, leaving me $50,000." "Wow. Two parents gone in two months. No wonder you're depressed." "And last month my aunt died, and left me $15,000." "Three close family members lost in three months? How sad." "Then this month," continued, the friend, "nothing!" | |||

バーでふたりの男が話していた。 「顔色がすぐれないけど、どうしたの？」 「母親が６月に死んだんだ。１万ドル（約１２０万円）残してね」 「それはつらいだろう。。。」 「７月には父親が死んだ。５万ドル（約６００万円）残してね」 「２ヶ月に２人とは。。。。。さぞ落ち込んだろう。。。」 「先月、おばが死んだ。１万５千ドル（計算してください(^^;）残した。」 「３ヶ月に３人も！さぞつらいでしょう。。。」 「そして今月。。。」男は続けた．．．「何も起こらない！！」 ．．．．．うーーん、そんなに面白くなかったかな(^^; |

面白かったですよ。でも、最後のセリフが "nothing" じゃなくて、例
えば "nobody" だったら、身内が死んで金が手に入るのを期待していたのに、
「今月は誰も死んでくれない」ことを嘆く気持ちが強調されてブラックさが濃く
なり、もっとオチが効いたような気がするなあ。 なるほど。確かに、話しているうちに“誰も”に無意識のうちに変わってしまっていたとしたら面白いですね(^^) |
